James Parkinson was born in Burnley, Lancashire and graduated Loughborough University in 2003 with a BA Hons degree in Illustration. As well as being a freelance artist he has also worked as a visual and performing arts technician for nearly ten years providing knowledge and assistance to college students in graphics, art, photography, media and music. James is also a prolific musician, producer and engineer and goes under the name One Cure For Man.
His artwork, although quite abstract and humorous, often draws upon themes of worth, religion, culture, love and politics, engaging with the changing nature of modern experience and the human condition. As a boy he was seduced by the culture of 80's and 90's film and TV and the radio's constant airing of timeless rock and pop classics, all of which has seeped into his compositions and themes.
